• Who issues the Teamster Privilege Credit Card?

  The Teamster Privilege Credit Card is issued by HSBC Bank Nevada, N.A. and serviced by HSBC Card Services, members of the HSBC Group. HSBC Bank Nevada, N.A. is one of the nation's top ten issuers of MasterCard® credit cards. HSBC Group is one of the largest banking and financial services organizations in the world.

• Is there an Annual Fee on the Teamster Privilege Credit Card?

  There is no Annual Fee for the Teamster Privilege Credit Card; however, there is an Annual Fee for the Teamster Privilege Secured MasterCard.

Approval

• Am I guaranteed to receive a Teamster Privilege Credit Card if I apply?

  No, by applying for a Teamster Privilege Credit Card, you authorize HSBC to obtain a current credit bureau report and to verify the information provided on your application. Approval is pending HSBC's review of the information on your credit bureau report and other information. Please be advised that your union has no involvement in credit decisions.

• How long will it take to receive my Teamster Privilege Credit Card?

  Once approved, you will receive your card in 7-10 days

• Can I have more than one Teamster Privilege Credit Card account?

  Yes, if you are eligible, you may apply for a second Teamster Privilege Credit Card. Call 1-888-803-0276 for more details.

Qualifying

• Do I have to be a resident of the U. S. to have a Teamster Privilege Credit Card?

  You must be a resident of the U.S., Guam, Puerto Rico or Virgin Islands and be of legal age in the state in which you reside.

• Who can apply for a Teamster Privilege Credit Card?

  To apply for a Teamster Privilege Credit Card, you must be a current Teamster member in good standing, or retired Teamster member, or a family member of a current Teamster member, who resides in the United States or one of its territories and at least the age of majority in your state.

• What is a variable rate?

  A variable rate is a rate that can change with the market based on an Index (such as the Prime Rate).

• Can the Prime Rate increase or decrease?

  Yes, the Prime Rate may increase or decrease.

• If the Prime Rate should increase or decrease, when does it affect my Account?

  If the Prime Rate changes, the new APRs will take effect on the first day of your billing cycle beginning in the next month.

  The Teamster Privilege Visa Classic Credit Card offers Auto Rental Insurance free of charge. This benefit is in addition to 100% fraud liability protection, no annual fee, and Triple Plus Features.

  The Teamster Privilege Visa Platinum Credit Card offers a minimum $5,000 credit line for all the purchasing power you need. The Teamster Privilege Visa Platinum Credit Card offers the Security Protection Package with Auto Rental Insurance, Travel and Emergency Assistance, and purchase protection benefits you can access as a preferred Cardmember. These benefits are yours automatically in addition to the standard Classic Card benefits. Platinum Visa benefits include the following*:

  • Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver Program - Reimbursement for the repair or replacement of covered losses to a rental vehicle

• About the Teamster Privilege Secured MasterCard

  The Teamster Privilege Secured MasterCard could help members establish or re-establish credit. Upon approval, the card is granted to Teamster member applicants who make a deposit into an interest-bearing savings account, which is pledged as security for the Secured Card Account. After 18 months, the Secured Card account will be reviewed to determine if you qualify for an unsecured Teamster Privilege Credit Card.   1. The Savings Account is maintained through HSBC Bank USA, N.A. Withdrawals are not permitted because the savings account balance is the security deposit.

  2. Accrued Interest is credited monthly

  3. You will receive an quarterly savings account statement

  4. You will receive a 1099 form to report the interest earned each year to the IRS on the savings account from HSBC Bank USA, N.A (you will only receive this if interest earned is more than $10).

  
  

  The credit line on the Teamster Privilege Secured MasterCard account is equal to the savings deposit, less the yearly accrued interest. Credit Line Increases: You may request a credit line increase at any time on your Teamster Privilege Secured MasterCard. To do so, we require a deposit to your savings account. You must mail a check payable to Teamster Privilege Secured MasterCard for at least $100 and in increments of $100 to increase your credit line. Your Teamster Privilege Credit Card number must be on the check memo line (e.g., "CLI/ACCOUNT #"). Once the check has been processed, we will increase your credit line.
